XKC-Y25-V Non-Contact Capacitive Liquid Level Sensor
The XKC-Y25-V is an intelligent non-contact liquid level sensor designed to detect the presence of liquid through the wall of a non-metallic container. The sensor is mounted externally, so it does not need to come into contact with the liquid being monitored. This makes it particularly useful for sealed tanks and containers where an internal probe would be inconvenient or undesirable.
The sensor uses capacitive sensing to detect changes caused by liquid behind the container wall. It can detect liquid through materials such as plastic, glass and ceramic, with the supported sensing range depending on the container wall thickness. The manufacturer specifies sensing through non-metallic walls up to approximately 20mm thick for the XKC-Y25 series.
The XKC-Y25-V version provides a high/low level output, allowing it to be connected to a controller, relay circuit or microcontroller-based system. It operates from 5V to 24V DC and has a typical response time of approximately 500ms.
The sensor is suitable for water tanks, liquid storage containers, pump protection, automatic filling systems, dispensers and industrial automation. Because the sensor is mounted outside the container, it avoids direct exposure to the liquid and can be useful for applications involving corrosive or contaminated liquids, provided the container material is compatible with capacitive sensing.
