TL1838 38kHz Infrared Receiver

The TL1838 is a compact infrared receiver designed to detect modulated infrared signals around 38kHz. It combines an infrared photodetector with amplification, filtering and demodulation circuitry, allowing it to receive signals from compatible IR transmitters and provide a clean digital output to a microcontroller.

The receiver is commonly used in infrared remote-control applications, where encoded IR signals from a transmitter or remote handset are converted into digital pulses that can be decoded by a microcontroller. Its low-voltage operation makes it suitable for both 3.3V and 5V electronics within its specified supply range.

The TL1838 is suitable for Arduino, ESP32, Raspberry Pi and other embedded systems requiring infrared signal reception. Typical applications include TV and appliance remote controls, robotics, automation, wireless IR communication and educational electronics projects.
