NEO-6M GPS Module
```The NEO-6M GPS Module is a compact satellite positioning module designed to provide location and timing information to microcontroller-based projects. It is commonly used with Arduino and other development platforms where GPS positioning and navigation data are required.
The module receives signals from GPS satellites and calculates information such as latitude, longitude, altitude, speed, date and time. Positioning data is normally provided through a UART serial interface using standard NMEA messages, making the module straightforward to interface with a microcontroller.
Many NEO-6M breakout boards include a ceramic patch antenna, backup battery and onboard voltage regulation, providing a convenient solution for prototyping and embedded applications. The module is suitable for GPS trackers, robotics, vehicle monitoring, telemetry, navigation systems, data logging and location-aware automation projects.
The NEO-6M is a GPS receiver rather than a cellular or two-way communication device. It requires a suitable view of the sky for reliable satellite reception, and positioning performance can vary depending on antenna quality, environment and satellite visibility.
