L298N Dual H-Bridge Motor Driver Module
The L298N Motor Driver Module is a dual H-bridge motor control board designed to drive DC motors and bipolar stepper motors from microcontrollers such as Arduino, ESP32 and other development platforms. It allows a low-power control signal from a microcontroller to control motors that require significantly more current and voltage.
The module provides two independent H-bridge channels, allowing it to control two DC motors independently. Motor direction can be controlled through the input pins, while the enable inputs can be used for motor activation and, when supported by the control system, speed control using PWM.
An onboard 5V regulator is included on common L298N module versions, simplifying power distribution for compatible logic circuits. The module also provides screw terminals for motor and power connections and convenient header pins for connecting control signals to a microcontroller.
The L298N is commonly used in two-wheel and four-wheel robots, motorized mechanisms, conveyor projects, Arduino prototypes and other applications requiring simple dual-motor control.
